Campfire Pizza

Ingredients:

  • Pre-made pizza dough or pre-baked pizza crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • Pizza sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your choice of pizza toppings (pepperoni, cooked sausage, diced vegetables, etc.)
  • Olive oil
  • Italian seasoning
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare your pizza toppings by slicing and cooking any ingredients that need to be cooked beforehand (such as sausage or vegetables).
  2. Preheat your campfire to medium heat, creating a bed of hot coals for cooking.
  3. Tear off a large piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil and lay it flat on a clean surface.
  4. Roll out the pre-made pizza dough or place the pre-baked pizza crust onto the aluminum foil.
  5. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the dough or crust, leaving a border around the edges.
  6. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  7. Add your choice of pizza toppings evenly over the cheese.
  8. Drizzle a little olive oil over the toppings and sprinkle with Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
  9. Carefully fold the aluminum foil over the pizza, sealing the edges tightly to create a packet.
  10. Place the pizza packet on the campfire grate or on hot coals, cooking for about 5-10 minutes.
  11. Check the pizza periodically to ensure it doesn't burn. Cooking times may vary based on heat intensity.
  12. Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, carefully open the foil packet and check the crust for desired crispness.
  13. Using a spatula, carefully transfer the cooked campfire pizza onto a plate or cutting board.
  14. Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing and enjoying your delicious campfire creation.
